Club Bibliotekata ( Библиотеката ) is a famous club in Sofia, Bulgaria situated in the building of the National Library. The new interior of the club required a new visual identity for the print materials. We worked on several projects - a new logotype, main menu for the club restaurant, cocktail & drinks menu, interior and exterior branding materials.
One of the tasks was to design a guide-like booklet. The booklet is 48 pages, A6 size, full color print on 300 g glossy paper.
The main function of the guide is to inform visitors about the club weekly program – future events, concerts, guests, etc. So it had to be visually attractive but as a part of the club identity it had to be consistent with the other materials. 3 basic elements helped us achieving consistency – the decorative 45 degree angle lines, the font and character styles, and a set of text layouts in the booklet.
The different colors, graphics and illustrations made every article unique and visually distinctive so that the viewer’s eye be excited through all the pages.
The guide also reveals interesting articles about music & culture. A few pages offer drinks and cocktails from the bar, too. We had to think of a good contrast between text and background – clubs are usually not very bright in the evening and darkness makes reading difficult.
This is an interview with a famous Bulgarian radio presenter – we designed the guitar on this page as a visual representation of his emotions to rock music.
